Freshmen and some advanced Eighth grade students focus on the study of basic Algebra including the use of polynomial equations and inequalities. Algebra begins with the previously learned ratios, rates, proportions, and percentages as well as geometric slope and continues to develop student understand through specific formulas for each situation. These formulas and equations are applicable in construction, finance, field survey and most life uses of Math. Students begin to learn the use of Algebra for engineering and scientific studies through the application of polynomials — equations with multiple variables employing exponents.
